Nakyessa School was founded by Bishop Grivas Musisi and the Prayer Palace Ministries of Uganda in 1999. After 40 years of civil war, AIDS and extreme poverty, Uganda's children had become victims on many levels. Bishop Musisi sought to provide Christian based education for these disadvantaged children and birthed the Nakyessa School in the rural setting of Nakyessa, just 56 miles north of Kampala.
The school has 450 students with 60 boarding students and the remaining students attend daily. It
The school has 450 students with 60 boarding students and the remaining students attend daily. Itis supported and sustain by donations from Canada and the USA. For the last several years the school has faced serious financial challenges. Funding and support for the school dropped drastically as a result of the sluggish economy. By the grace of God, the school has managed to survive, but is in dyer need of support to pay teachers, purchase school supplies, building repairs and replace lavatory facilities.
